If your budget is limited to $300, we have some good news for you: the ZTE Axon 7 mini is now available for pre-ordering in the U.S, with a price tag of just $299.98, unlocked.
There are multiple ways of getting it, like the company’s online store, as well as Best Buy, B&H and Amazon. Also, it should be available on Newegg, somewhere around the end of the day. However, even though you can place your order, none of the retailers mentioned earlier can’t tell exactly when the phone will be shipped, as the official release date wasn’t mentioned.
Spec-wise, the ZTE Axon 7 mini comes with a 5.2″ 1080p AMOLED display, being powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 617 chip, with an octa-core configuration, alongside an Adreno 405 GPU, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. The later can be expanded, thanks to the presence of a microSD card slot.
In terms of camera, it comes with a 16 MP sensor mounted on the back, with f/1.9 aperture, phase detection auto focus and dual-LED flash, while the selfie unit is relying on an 8 MP one. Other features worth mentioning are the fingerprint scanner, a feature that’s present on more and more smartphones nowadays, not just flagships, as well as a USB Type-C port and the Dolby Atmos technology, able to deliver some impressive audio.
When it comes to the battery, the ZTE Axon 7 mini has a 2705 mAh power pack, which should be just enough for a full day of regular use. It’s non-removable unfortunately, but hey, you can’t have them all!
The handset comes with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box, customized with the manufacturer’s own user interface, and it will be available in Platinum Grey and Ion Gold, the latter being a Best Buy exclusive.
