Another day, another Xiaomi! If yesterday we found out that the Chinese manufacturer’s next flagship, the Mi 6, could be released at this year’s Mobile World Congress, in Barcelona, today we came across a new high-end model, dubbed Xiaomi Mix Evo, as it’s just been spotted on Geekbench!
The smartphone seems to be packing a big amount of processing power, since it’s listed with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 835 chip under the hood, with eight cores, each one of them running at 1.9 GHz. Also, the processor is aided by 4 GB of RAM, according to the same listing.
Moving on, we also know that the phone is running Android 6.0.1, which might raise some question marks regarding this phone. After all, it’s unusual for such a high end model to feature an older version of Android, instead of 7.0 Nougat.
Unfortunately, there aren’t any extra details available about this mysterious Xiaomi Mix Evo, which could be a variant of last year’s Mi Mix. If this turns out to be true, it could at least borrow some design elements from Xiaomi’s masterpiece, considered by many of of the best looking smartphones ever made.
On the other side, it could also be an upgrade variant of the Mi Mix, the only differences being under the hood. As you probably know, the 6.4″ phablet was initially unveiled with a Snapdragon 821 powering it, so an upgrade to the 835 would allow it to compete with several upcoming flagships, like the Samsung Galaxy S8, LG G6 or the new HTC U Ultra.
