Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Surfaces Online,Clears FCC Certification


Couple of weeks after Xiamoi’s Redmi Note 4X made an appearance online, the Redmi Note 5 has also made a dramatic entrance following its certification by the US FCC. The certification of the device has also hinted on some possible specs fans should expect from the upcoming device.

According to one of the leaks of the device which surfaced online, the Redmi Note 5 is speculated to be unveiled later this month at an event organised by the tech company. The leak also hinted at a possible pricing of the device which is expected to run on the latest Android OS 7.0 Nougat with Xiamoi’s OS- based MIUI 9 on top.

As the projected launch date draw nearer, there’s no leaked photo of the device yet in circulation which makes it unclear whether the company opted for a design change or not but based on the certification information, the device will sport major upgrades in terms of internal memory space and RAM.

The Redmi Note 5 is expected to pack a 5.5-inch full-HD display running on Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 652 octa-core SoC or the MediaTek’s 64-bit Helio X25 deca-core SoC. Analysts have however projected that India may likely get the Snapdragon variant of the smartphone while the MediaTek variant will be pushed to China and other Asian countries.

Other possible upgrades include the 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB internal storage space, the 16-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera and the possible 4000 mAh battery which is expected to be equipped with the Quick Charge 3.0 support.

The Xiamoi’s Redmi Note 5 is also expected to spot other features including the Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11n connectivity features and GPS, USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer is expected. Price speculations hold that the Redmi Note 5 may hit the market at a price starting from $191.
