Xiaomi’s gaining reputation with the successful launch of the Redmi Phones. Well, after the success of the Redmi Note 4, Xiaomi is seamlessly working on its next iteration, the Redmi 5. For now, we’ve come across too many leaks about the device. Subsequently, a fresh leak has emerged now, divulging the specs, design and the price details for the forthcoming device.
With respect to the leaked details, the device sports a metal unibody design with rounded corners and would be adorned with a fingerprint sensor and a single firing camera on the rear side. Up front, there is a multi-functional capacitive button (menu, home, and back) placed on the device’s chin; and a selfie shooter on the top. These design aspects seem to be identical to the Redmi 4.
Coming to the specs, the device is expected to be powered by a mid-level processor, such as Snapdragon 625 or 630 chipset. Moreover, the leak states in further that the device will run on a 3,680mAh battery, which is smaller when compared to the Redmi 4’s 4,100 mAh battery; and will also support Quick Charge 3.0.
Further, the device is expected to come with either a 3GB or 4GB of RAM with LPDDR3 technology and carry 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of inbuilt storage that runs at “eMMC 5.1” speeds. Moving on to the price details revealed by the source, the price will vary with respect to the storage variant.
Accordingly, the prices of the 3GB variant will be ¥859 (~$125) and ¥1,039 (~$152) for the 16GB and 32GB storage respectively. Whereas, the 64GB + 4GB variant will be priced at ¥1,299 (~$191).
