Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi is not done with releasing new phones this year! After the Mi 5S and Mi 5S Plus were very well received by the public, it seems like the Mi Note 2 is the next handset expected to join their portfolio!
Currently, there aren’t any official details about the phone, but on the other side, the rumour mill is constantly working, helping us to make an idea about what to expect from the Mi Note 2!
Recently, a leak of a possible spec sheet, as well as a user-generated render of the device made the rounds online and we must admit that this device might be a very hot prospect!
Apparently, Xiaomi is planning to release the Mi Note 2 this year, sporting a Snapdragon 821 chip under the hood, and a curved 5.7″ display, rocking a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. Also, the handset could be available in two variants, with 4 or 6 GB of RAM, making it a beast in terms of processing power.
In terms of design, the renders reveal a dual-curved display, both at the front and rear, most likely similar to what Samsung used for the Galaxy S7 Edge and Note 7. Also, it seems that the camera won’t be a protruding one, which is definitely a very big plus, if you ask us!
Another interesting feature of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is the lack of a traditional fingerprint scanner on the back, as depicted by the render, meaning that the handset will eventually use the ultrasonic scanner used by the recently launched Mi 5S.
Currently, an official launch date for the device wasn’t revealed, but an event could be scheduled for the end of the month or somewhere in October, according to a rumour from Weibo. However, we will definitely see the Mi Note 2 making its debut until the end of the year!
