Exactly by last year May 10th, Xiaomi released the Mi Max smartphone, which fetched a great success to the company, for its attractive display. Since, it’s been over a year now, there is no wonder that the crowd is looking forward for an upgraded successor to it, the Mi Max 2. The company hasn’t announced anything regarding a successor, but the rumor mill has been quite active.
Now, with a new leak, the launch date and specs details of the handset have been tipped off as well. Moreover, an uninformed gossip has also emerged lately, and it hints that the launch of this follow-up smartphone, will be on May 23rd and the promotions for the launch event would start by tomorrow.
According to the previous leaks, the Mi Max 2 sports a 12MP Sony IMX378 for its main shooter with a high aperture, while a 5MP one is offered for the selfie shooter. As for the pricing, the Mi Max 2 is rumored to cost between 1499 and 1699 Yuan; however, we expect that it shouldn’t be much more than 1999Yuan.

The phone has a wide screen with 6.44-inch display, rendering a resolution of 1080p. On the software front, the device runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat, which is wrapped by MIUI 8. It packs a massive 5000mAh battery, which is quite higher than its predecessor.
As per the early gossips, under the hood the device is packed with Snapdragon 660 processor and holds memory of 6GB/4GB RAM. There are also rumors, saying that it comes in two variants: One with Snapdragon 626 and 4GB RAM; and the other one, with 128GB internal storage, Snapdragon 660, and 6GB RAM.
We have some more rumors on it. Yes! It is suggested that the Mi Max device, will get the MIUI 9 update, which is in the beta testing phase and not to be rolled out soon. On the whole, too many gossips are doing rounds right now, we couldn’t actually do more than waiting for any official announcement on it.
