Lately, there have been a lot of leaks about the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 5c, so it’s pretty obvious that it won’t be that much until its launch. Initially, it was supposed to be unveiled on December 6, but as you probably know, it didn’t happen.
Thanks to Chinese retailer Tmall, which added the Mi 5c in its listing, we got the chance to check out the handset’s specs! Thus, we do know that it will feature a fully metallic body, with a 5.0″ display, rocking a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. There were some rumours about the Xiaomi Mi 5c being available in two versions as well, but for the moment, there’s nothing else about this.
The fact that it will be made of metal is good news, meaning that Xiaomi is finally ditching the plastic builds for its mid-range line-up, relying on it just for entry level models.
The spec sheet is completed by an octa-core processor, clocked at 2.2 GHz and aided by 3 GB of RAM. The internal storage capacity counts 32 GB and we don’t know yet if the phone will offer the possibility of expanding this, using a microSD card. As for the operating system, it will come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, with MIUI8 on top, but it will be updated to Android 7.0 Nougat later.
Finally, the Xiaomi Mi 5c should be available for a price of around CNY 1,500 or even less. This translates to around $220, but if the phone reaches the United States, it will, most likely, cost more.
