We’re looking forward to seeing the new Xiaomi Mi 5c, the successor of last year’s Mi 4c handset, as new live images with it were spotted on a Chinese website, confirming a couple of rumoured features.
A few days ago, another set of leaked images were showing a fingerprint scanner on the front. Also, a Geekbench listing revealed that the Xiaomi Mi 5c, currently code named Meri, will come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, but customized with the manufacturer’s own interface, MIUI 8.
Moving on with a possible spec sheet, we could see a smartphone with a 5.5″ display and a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, covered by 2.5d curved glass. Under the hood, it is said to feature an unknown processor, with an octa-core configuration, clocked at 2.2 GHz, alongside a Mali-T860 MP4 graphics chip. Some sources mention that the chipset could be MediaTek’s Helio P15, seen on the Motorola Moto M, or Xiaomi’s own Pine core processor.
There aren’t any details about the storage space, camera or battery, but we do know that this phone will feature 4G LTE support.
The Xiaomi Mi 5c is expected to be launched somewhere in the first days December, while December 12th is the exact date when it will go on sale. You will be able to get it in Rose Gold, Gold or Black.
