The Vivo V5 Plus made an unexpected entry into the market ahead of its official release and was made available in Malaysia for pre-order but not so many people expected the smartphone company to pull a fast one by launching a mid-range variant of the smartphone, the Vivo V5 Lite.
The smartphone company, however, announced the V5 Plus today but in addition to it threw in the element of surprise by unveiling the V5 Lite which altogether spells three variants and models for the v5.
Recall that the smartphone company had earlier in 2016 released the V5 into the market and made significant upgrades to it on the V5 Plus but the V5 Lite is a whole new chapter of specs on its own. The V5 Lite which is the lowest-end of the V5 family boasts of the same selfie soft light as found in the V5 Plus although it doesn’t come equipped with the dual front camera a found in the high-end V5 Plus.
Even at that, the smartphone company threw in a generous 13 MP rear snapper with LED flash and a 16 MP front snapper for the device. Other specs fitted on the lowest range of the V5 family include the unnamed 64-bit Octa-core processor running on the device along with 3 GB of RAM and an internal storage size of 32 GB which is quite generous.
The internal storage size is, however, further expansible using the microSD card while the display is a 5.5-inch screen with a resolution of 720p running on a 3,000 mAh battery. The smartphone like the Vivo V5 Plus runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the company’s own Fun-touch OS 3.0 on top.
Unlike the V5 Plus, the V5 Lite does not feature the fingerprint sensor but maintains the metal unibody structure on a body measuring 153.8 x 75.5 x 7.6 mm. The price of the device which weighs 155g is however yet unknown although it will b available in color variants including the Rose Gold and Crown Gold colors.
The juicy part of it all is that the Vivo V5 Lite will support 4G and a dual-SIM functionality and will be made available in Thailand, Indonesia, Myanmar, and the Philippines.
