Vivo seems to be keen on allowing their customers to experience the latest OS. Yes, the company has officially announced a new version to their custom FunTouch OS, Referred as the FunTouch OS 3.1, the new version will overlay the Android 7.1 Nougat OS, on eligible Vivo smartphones, in the oncoming couple of months.
As mentioned, for the latest Android 7.1 Nougat, users can update their devices to FunTouch OS 3.1 and here is the list of devices, which are eligible for this firmware: Vivo X9, X9 Plus, X play 6, X7 Plus, X7, Xplay 5, Xplay 5A, Xplay 5S, Xplay 5 Elite, and Xplay 5 Ultimate.
But however, the devices which are going to get the update first, are the Vivo X9 and X9 Plus. The firmware for the X9 Plus will start rolling out on July 18th, whereas for the X9, it is said to be on July 31st. Then again, it is obvious that there will Beta versions pushed out before that.
Accordingly, Beta testing versions will be released for the devices, such as X9, X9 Plus and X play 6, as an endeavor to finalize the updates, before the final update of the FunTouch OS, is released. Further, the update seems to be delayed, as the company works invariably, for releasing an update that works well, instead of one with a batch of bugs.
Therefore, people owning the aforementioned devices, should be lucky to have the update very soon to experience the FunTouch OS 3.1 on their device.
