Recently, Xiaomi released a new Android 7.0 Nougat update for Redmi Note 4, with the Snapdragon chip, based on MIUI 8 7.1.19 Global Beta ROM. Currently, it’s rolling out OTA, but you can also install it manually.
If you’re planning to update Redmi Note 4 to Android Nougat, you can do it by simply following the guide below, flashing the file via Mi Flash tool. Also, the full Recovery ROM will be available soon, so, for the moment you can only use the Fastboot method.
It’s worth mentioning that this is the first MIUI 8 Global version for Redmi Note 4, featuring several new features! Before installing it manually, make sure you check its availability, by going to Settings > About Phone > Check for Update. If it’s not yet available, you can proceed with installation.
Before starting the process, here are a few aspects you should consider:
- This method is just for the Redmi Note 4 with the Snapdragon chip. Don’t try it on the one with a MediaTek chip.
- The process won’t erase your data, but our recommendation is to perform a full backup before starting, for the safer side.
- Check your battery level before starting! It should be at least 50%, otherwise, you can experience an accidental shutdown.
- Please follow the steps below carefully!
