How To Update Oppo F1 Plus To Android 6.0 Marshmallow

The Oppo F1 Plus can be considered one of the best looking phones launched this year! If we take a look under the hood, we must admit that the specs aren’t bad either, being able to compete with the likes of Samsung Galaxy S7, LG G5 or HTC 10. However, there’s one thing bugging us about this phone: the operating system.

Currently, the phone is running on Google’s Android 5.0 Lollipop. This shouldn’t be such a big issue, but why not take advantage of a better operating system, if the phone supports it? Today we’re talking about how to update Oppo F1 Plus to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

There are a lot of new features brought by the operating system, like new notifications, battery improvements or Google Now on Tap, which is the best proof of how advanced Google’s search algorithm is. Also, let’s not forget about Doze, an excellent feature that limits battery use as much as possible if the phone isn’t moved for a longer period. See, it’s worth updating! Let’s see how it’s done…

Requirements

Before starting the updating process, you need to make sure that your phone fulfills a couple of conditions:

  • The battery is fully charged, in order to prevent an accidental shut down during the updating process.
  • Check to see if there is enough internal memory available on the phone. The update needs around 1 GB of space.
  • See if the phone is connected to the Internet, preferably on a Wi-Fi network, in order to avoid consuming a lot of data from your monthly plan.

Step By Step Guide To Update Oppo F1 Plus to Android 6.0 Marshmallow

Step 1: Turn off your Oppo F1 Plus, then turn it on again.

Step 2: Connect the phone to a Wi-Fi network.

Step 3: Go to Settings > About Phone > System Updates and tap on it.

Step 4: Your phone is now searching for updates. As soon as it finds the Android Marshmallow 6.0 update, you will get an option to download it.

Step 5: After the downloading process is over, you will see a “Reboot and Install” option. Tap on it.

Step 6: Wait for your Oppo F1 Plus to finish the update. It should take a few minutes.

And that’s pretty much it. You are now running Android 6.0 Marshmallow on your Oppo F1 Plus. As you can see, the whole process is very simple and it doesn’t take any specific technical knowledge to do it.
