The Android 7.1 Nougat update is slowly rolling out to a lot of smartphones, but some users still have to wait a bit until they will receive it. For example, if you own a Lenovo K3 Note, it’s not available yet. However, if you can’t wait and update Lenovo K3 Note to Android 7.1 Nougat AOSP ROM, you can easily do it, using a few simple instructions.
The update is available thanks to the XDA Developers community, which released the initial build of Android 7.1 Nougat ROM. In order to install it, your phone needs to be rooted and have a TWRP Custom Recovery installed.
Bugs which you should expect to encounter
Remember, we’re talking about an initial Nougat alpha build, so don’t be surprised if you observe some missing features. However, you can still use it daily and the bugs will be updated over the time. Here are the bugs we’re talking about:
- Audio recording issues.
- Video recordings can’t be saved, but it might work if you use a different app, not the stock one.
- The notifications LED isn’t working.
Warnings & Requirements
- This ROM is working just on the Lenovo K3 Note, so don’t try installing it on another device.
- As mentioned above, it’s an initial alpha build, so it may contain bugs.
- The updating process will erase all your data, so it’s advisable to perform a full backup before starting.
- Make sure that the phone has at least 50% battery before you begin, otherwise you risk dealing with an accidental shutdown.
