It’s an official build, which is currently distributed in a phase wise manner, but if you want to install Nougat on Asus ZenFone 3 Max, you can also do it manually, by following the guide presented below.

Step 1: Download 7.1.1 Nougat file for Asus ZenFone 3 Max from above and rename to the file as update.zip.
Step 2: Turn off the device, then, by pressing Power and Volume Up at the same time, then boot into Recovery Mode.
Step 3: In the Recovery Mode menu, pick the ‘Apply update from SDcard’ option.
Step 4: select the update.zip file.
Step 5: Wait for 10 minutes,
Step 6: Now Reboot the phone.
Step 1: Go to Settings > About phone > Build Number and tap it 7 times. This will enable Developer Options.
Step 2: Go to Developer Options and enable USB Debugging.

Step 8: Go to the folder where you have ADB installed, press Shift and Right Click, in order to open a command window.
Step 9: Check your connection by typing adb devices. If the device is listed, you can flash the ROM.
Step 10: Start flashing the Nougat ROM for Asus ZenFone 3 Max by typing adb sideload File_name.
Step 11: Wait for around 10 minutes, until the process is ready.
Step 12: Reboot the phone.
