The UMi Z is in the market seeking to re-evaluate what users find important in a smartphone nowadays. The smartphone with a sleek design along with an excellent shape features a 5.5-inch screen with an impressively trimmed and thinned bezels on the front because bezels are slowly going out of fashion.
The UMi Z is made of a SHARP-made panel with a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a feature which allows users to fine tune color due to the Mira Vision Technology incorporation supplied by MediaTek.
The smartphone also features MediaTek’s brand-new chipset, the Helio X27 SoC under the smartphone’s hood. The processor sports ten cores altogether and is distributed into three distinct clusters with each group carrying different load to allow for smooth operation of the device. The MediaTek’s brand new SoC is clocked at a speed of 2.6GHz coupled with the smartphone’s 4 GB of RAM and an internal storage size of 32 GB. The internal storage is a fast eMMC 5.1 chip made by Samsung and is expandable to up to 256 GB using microSD card.
On the camera front, the smartphone packs a 13 MP Samsung made camera on the rear and front parts which make selfies a whole lot easier and better. The rear-facing camera is equipped with both laser auto-focus and phase detection auto-focus for better and prompt delivery along with the soft light feature. The back camera is also coupled with a quad LED light for lighting thereby increasing the accuracy of photos take in dim light or at night.
The phone runs on a 3,780mAh battery which combined with the Helio’s is said to last as long as two days on average use.
It is expected to roll out with the latest Android OS, 7.0 Nougat and priced at $279.99 officially. However, it is available for pre-sale on a few websites at $219.99. The smartphone manufacturer, however, set January 25 as the official shipping date.
