Tag, the luxury timepiece maker seem to be looking at starting the year on a high note as the much expected timepiece from the luxury manufacturer has been said to be launching soon. How soon could be as soon as May 2017 according to reports, the luxury timepiece manufacturer will roll out the timepiece a couple of years after the world’s first Android Wear powered luxury watch hit the market running.
Recall that the world’s first Android Wear powered luxury watch was christened ‘Connected,’ coming to a couple of years after, the watch is about to get a befitting successor. Speaking on the release of the luxury timepiece, the company’s CEO, Jean-Claude Biver in a recent interview revealed that the luxury timepiece would soon be available in the market.
Speaking further although taking note to not reveal much ahead of the official launch of the timepiece, Biver disclosed that the timepiece would feature a GPS technology and sport a longer battery life which may mean optimized performance or bigger battery.
He maintained that the luxury watch is optimized for better reception as well as improved display and interface. According to rumors ahead of the luxury time piece’s release, it is expected to run on the Android Wear 2.0 which according to reports has been said to be hitting a grand opening in February, possibly at the MWC.
Biver also revealed that the company flooded the market with only 56,000 units of the predecessor luxury watch, Connected which all sold for a launched price tag of $1,500 apiece. He further noted that the total number of the smartwatch which was shipped more than doubled the initial plans the company had in mind for production.
In relation to the upcoming watch which is expected to make an appearance in May, the company CEO said the tech company is planning to roll out 150,000 units of the luxury timepiece.
