This year, Sony is expected to released a revamped version of its Xperia X handset and it seems that it could happen sooner than we’re thinking! Fulfilling this rumour is a leaked image of the handset, which appeared online this weekend.
Apparently, it’s a simple press image, but it does show the front of the black version of the Sony Xperia X 2017 and, at a first look, it seems that it will have some incredibly thin bezels. On the other side, the angle of the image doesn’t allow us to make an idea about the handset’s real proportions, but it’s not hard to tell that it will most likely be a slim model.
The image is accompanied by a text: “New Xperia X” and, less visible, “#TheGreatest”. Ok, so we’re looking forward to seeing flagship specs from this bad boy and, why not, a real competitor for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8.
Other details which, in other cases, would’ve made things clearer regarding a possible launch date, is the date shown on the display. However, in this case, it’s Friday, October 3, which doesn’t make any sense at all.
Right now, there’s no confirmation regarding the authenticity of this image, so our recommendation is to take everything with a pinch of salt, at least until something official comes up. In the meantime, we’re keeping an eye on Sony, since the Japanese manufacturer is expected to reveal a couple of new devices during the Consumer Electronics Show, starting today, in Las Vegas.
