There’s just one month left until the biggest European tech show of the year, IFA 2016, and we’re looking forward to seeing what top tech manufacturers will reveal in Madrid, between September 2 and 7.
Even though it might be a bit earlier, Sony, one of the most important companies that will attend the show, scheduled a press conference. Somehow sticking to the tradition, it was set for September 1, a day before the event opens its gates to the public.
Of course, there are many details about what the Japanese manufacturer is planning to reveal at IFA 2016, but it’s not hard to guess that it’s going to be a smartphone. According to the latest rumors, it could be a successor for the Xperia X Performance, currently known as Xperia F8331.
After ditching the Xperia Z line, Sony replaced it with Xperia X, their current flagship line-up. Therefore, we’re expecting a new top notch model, most likely powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset. Other specs are currently unknown.
A few days ago, a set of leaked images was depicting a handset believed to be the Xperia F8331. It was also mentioned that the phone might have a 5.1″ display, 4K video capabilities with both cameras, a 3.5 mm jack and a USB Type-C port, a premiere for Sony.
Sony’s pre-IFA 2016 conference will begin on September 1, at 13:00 Central European Summer Time. Besides the Xperia F8331, the company is also expected to showcase other new products.
