There’s not a secret that Samsung is considering the scenario in which they say ‘goodbye’ to Google and, instead of using Android as their main operating system, they switch to their own, Tizen. Until now, the South Korean manufacturer released a couple of models, but they were all aimed at emerging markets, delivering an entry-level spec sheet for a pocket-friendly price. However, this is about to change, as the new Samsung Z9 and Z2 are scheduled to be unveiled soon, rumors pointing that the first will be a real powerhouse!
The Samsung Z2 is expected to make its debut on August 23, being available in the same areas as the previous Tizen-based models, like Bangladesh, Indonesia, India, Nepal, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Turkey and United Arab Emirates. However, we’re interested about the second model, currently known as SM-Z930F.
There are a lot of rumors claiming that the Samsung Z9 will be the manufacturer’s first Tizen-running high-end phone. It will be very interesting to see how such phone will be received by the market, not to mention that we’re very curious to find out if Samsung is planning to sell it in other regions as well, not just the ones mentioned above.
As for the phone’s specs, we don’t have so many details until now, even though it was already spotted on Zauba India’s import-export tracking website, but except the price, nothing else was provided. However, we do know that it costs way more than the Samsung Z2, another model expected to make its debut soon, – Rs. 30,792 – basically confirms the theory claiming that the upcoming Samsung Z9 will be a high-end model.
As a side note, the Samsung Z2 should come with a 4″ or 4.5″ AMOLED display, featuring a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, while under the hood it will sport a quad-core processor, running at 1.5 GHz, alongside 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage, expandable using a microSD card slot. The rear-mounted camera is said to have a 5 MP sensor, while the front-facing one should have a 1.3 MP one. As for the battery, it could have a capacity of 1500 or 2000 mAh.
Finally, when it comes to the Samsung Z9, we expect to see a 5″ Super AMOLED display, with a higher resolution, as well as more powerful quad-core chip, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of expandable storage and probably an 8 MP main camera. A bigger battery would be mandatory as well.
