A few days ago, Samsung announced a special event, scheduled for MWC 2017, on February 26. Of course, we knew from the start that it’s not going to be the Samsung Galaxy S8, since their flagship will make its debut one month later, so the only big thing they could launch is a tablet. The Galaxy Tab S3, to be more specific!
As you probably know, this is the South Korean manufacturer’s high end tablet, so we’re expecting big things from it! And Samsung was also aware of this, so, for start, they decided to use a dual-edged curved display, just like the one seen on the Samsung Galaxy S7.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 was already certified by the FCC and it seems that the display isn’t the only new thing about it! The whole design will be refreshed, following the same design line started by the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and continued by the upcoming Galaxy S8.
Of course, we’re convinced that you’re looking forward to finding out more details about the specs! The tablet will be equipped with an AMOLED display, measuring 9.6 inches and rocking a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels, resulting an aspect ratio of 4:3.
Under the hood, the Galaxy Tab S3 features a Snapdragon 820 chip, alongside 4 GB of RAM, while some rumors say that an Exynos 7420 variant will also be available in select markets. The storage capacity counts either 32 or 128 GB, while the presence or the lack of a microSD card slot is still unknown.
Moving on, the spec sheet is completed by a 12 MP rear camera, with a single LED flash, 5 MP front-facing unit, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a USB Type-C port, while a 5870 mAh battery will keep the lights on. Finally, the operating system will be Android 7.1 Nougat, customized with Samsung’s TouchWiz.
