Samsung Galaxy Tab J New Entry-Level Tablet Announced In Taiwan

We all know that Samsung’s J line of products are targeted more towards the mid- to lower-end market. They usually come with moderate specifications and great prices to go along with them. The new Samsung Galaxy Tab J seems to have fit to the same market category with is reasonable price. Don’t be fooled though; this new tablet from Samsung packs a bit of punch.

For starters, there is a 4,000mAh battery to support the use of this tablet throughout the day. The battery could last for more than 9 hours of use, making this new tablet perfect as the companion for your smartphone.

Samsung is sticking with a well-known formula of 7-inch screen and WXGA (1280×800 pixels) resolution with the Galaxy Tab J. The display consumes less power, which is why the tablet can last so long on a single charge. It is still a Samsung display, so expect bright colors and crisp details from it.

Interestingly, the Galaxy Tab J supports 4G LTE network. In fact, the SIM slot available on the device will enable users to receive phone calls and send text messages while using fast data connectivity. There is also A-GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and of course Bluetooth 4.0 LE to complete the array of connectivity options.

If you’re the type of user that still listens to FM radio while on the go, then you’d be delighted to know that the Samsung Galaxy Tab J has a built-in FM radio. As always, you need to plug in a headphone for this feature to work. There aren’t many tables that support FM radio out there, so this particular feature will appeal to many users.

Samsung’s own TouchWiz with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop at its core are still the software combination of choice for the Tab J. The latest features, including Kids Mode, is present in this version.

The tablet is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor. Samsung is staying true to the use of 1.5GB of RAM in most J-series devices. An 8GB internal storage and support for microSD will make sure you never run out of storage for multimedia files and pictures.

Speaking about pictures, the tablet also comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The cameras are not the best on the market, but they’re more than good enough for capturing everyday pictures or doing video calls whenever you need to.
