Samsung Galaxy On7 (2016) Spotted on Geekbench

Those times when Galaxy S were the only Samsung phones to look after are history. Besides the A and J series, the South Korean manufacturer introduced the On series, a line-up of mid-range handsets, perfect for anybody who wants a phone able to run even the most demanding apps and with a great design, but without breaking the bank. And Samsung Galaxy On7 (2016) is the next model to be released!

According to a report from Sammobile, a benchmark reveals that the phone will be available in multiple variant, one of them being powered by a Snapdragon 625 processor, running at 2.0 GHz, and 3 GB of RAM. On the other side, another model, with the serial number SM-G610F, rumored to be the Indian variant of the Galaxy On7 (2016), is apparently powered by an Exynos 7870 octa-core chip, with the same amount of RAM, 3 GB.

The same source mentions that the internal storage capacity will count 16 GB, but thanks to the microSD card slot, users can expand this. The Samsung Galaxy On7 (2016) will also come with a 4.8″ full HD display, while the camera department will consist in a 13 MP rear-mounted camera and a 4.8 MP selfie unit.

However, one of the most interesting features of this handset is supposedly the fingerprint sensor. If this rumor turns out to be true, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy On7 (2016) will be the first mid-ranger, with a price tag of under Rs. 15,000, to have this feature.

Sustaining this rumor is an import listing spotted on Zauba, reading that Samsung has imported “fingerprint assembly, fingerprint unit” for the SM-G10G in India, for testing and evaluation. Our recommendation is to take this with a pinch of salt, at least until clearer evident about this feature being present on the phone’s spec sheet comes up.

Finally, there’s nothing about a possible launch date in India or other regions, but it will most likely happen in the third quarter of the year.
