One of the handsets which is expected to make its debut in the near future is the Oppo R9S, a device rumoured to be very interesting, despite the fact of being just a mid-range model. Recently, an advertising leaflet made the rounds online, helping us to make an idea about what to expect from the Chinese manufacturer’s upcoming handset, in terms of specs and design.
Even though the images aren’t the clearest out there, we can see that the Oppo R9S will feature a relatively thin profile, something that the manufacturer has used us with over the years. The display will supposedly measure 5.5 inches, boasting a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It’s won’t deliver the crispiest images out there, but this is actually the natural choice, considering the battery capacity.
Previous rumours were pointing to a 2,850 mAh unit, which is ridiculously small for a 5.5″ phone. However, the same leaked image confirms the Oppo R9S will come with a 3,010 mAh battery, a small bump, but very needed. Honestly, we’re very curious about this device’s battery life…
GSM Arena claims that Oppo’s new smartphone will feature the Super VOOC charging technology, revealed earlier this year, so, considering this, the battery capacity somehow makes sense. After all, there’s no need to complain about a small power pack if you can quickly charge it back.
Under the hood, we’re expecting a Snapdragon 625 system-on-chip, alongside 4GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. We still don’t know anything about the presence of a microSD card slot, but it would be awesome if the phone has one.
Finally, the Oppo R9S would also feature a 13 MP camera on the back, with image stabilization, powered by the new OPPO SmartSensor, and an impressive 16 MP front-facing sensor, allowing it to take some really good looking selfies.
The R9S should make its debut by the end of the month.
