The OnePlus 3 Gold rush is all set to begin what with the handset in the popular color option finally seems to be ready for a market debut anytime soon.
The above speculation has its source in the recent sighting of the handset in Weibo done up in a shade of Gold. However, while the handset looked exciting and fresh in the new color scheme, what has struck many is the sort of matte surface finish while lacking any shine.
OnePlus has shown off both the color options of graphite and gold for their latest flagship killer stuff though the handset has so far been available in only the graphite shade. However, not withstanding the recent Weibo sighting, there is no word yet as to when is the earliest buyers can expect the OnePlus 3 gold to reach markets.
That said, the last that we have heard anything confirmative on this is that the gold version will be arriving only towards late July. The time window was disclosed by none other than OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei himself who had made the announcement via a Tweet message. However, given that we are already into that part of the month, it could be anytime that the OnePlus 3 gold makes its debut.
Also, it is just the exterior color option that is being discussed here with the handset remaining just the same from the hardware point of view. As a refresher, the OnePlus 3 comes with a Snapdragon 820 chip coupled to a huge 6 GB of RAM. It offers a 5.5-inch full HD display along with 32 GB of internal storage. Then there is also a 16-megapixel camera at the rear as well.
Often criticized for offering a rather huge 6 GB RAM when it is only just 4 GB of it that is available to the users, OnePlus had rolled out an update for its Oxygen OS 3.2 a few weeks ago. While that was supposed to set quite a few things right, it’s the opposite that has happened what with the handset now losing it’s faster than ever before. Seems it’s going to be another update or two before things settles down finally.
