Good news for OnePlus 3 and 3T users, as the Chinese manufacturer announced that their flagships will soon receive a new software update! After the initial Oxygen OS 4.0.0 update, based on Google’s latest dessert, Android 7.0 Nougat, which was released at the end of 2016, as well as the Oxygen OS 4.0.1 hotfix, released last week, the handsets are preparing for a new update.
To be more specific, we’re talking about Oxygen OS 4.0.2, which is expected to start hitting the OnePlus 3 and 3T today! However, let’s not forget that, like most updates, this will be an incremental one, so just a very small percent of smartphones will receive it in the next few hours, while a wider distribution is expected for the next few days.
As you probably noticed, we’re not talking about a massive update this time, fact revealed by the version number, 4.0.2, so don’t expect Android 7.1 or anything big.
Still, both handsets will enjoy updated APN settings, for select carriers. Also, the issue with the proximity sensor during calls was fixed and it won’t act weird anymore. Same thing goes for the Google Play Store bug, which was causing problems during downloads, while the overall system stability will be increased after the Oxygen OS 4.0.2 update will be installed.
Finally, OnePlus indirectly mentioned that another update could be released pretty soon, since the Wi-Fi connectivity might still fluctuate.
Keep an eye on our site, as we will get back on this topic, with a guide on how to manually install the update on your phone, if you can’t wait to receive the official one.
