For months, we have been waiting for the announcement of the entry-level smartphone, Nokia 2, and seeing the leaks, what we find is, the smartphone is getting low-end Snapdragon 212 chipset with 1 or 2GB of RAM. Apart from the low-end processor, it is believed that the company would go with a 5.0-inch display with this phone, same as what we get in Nokia 3.
Just days ago, we heard that Nokia is planning to launch its high-end device Nokia 8, with Snapdragon 835 chipset. Now, believing on the leaks, it seems that the company may announce both entry-level and high-end devices together in very near future. Few more leaks have suggested that the Nokia 2 would be the cheapest smartphone in 2017.
Talking about its other specs, it is believed that most of the features and specifications would remain same as the Nokia 3 as both are the entry-level devices. But it’s good that Nokia 2 would get Snapdragon processor, unlike Nokia 3, which has MediaTek MT673.
A very recent leak from China suggests that the phone would get control button on display, like many Android phones, but it’s quite new for Nokia. An image of Nokia 2 appeared online, which shares the fact that the Nokia 2 would get more rounded edges than other Nokia devices and the volume rockers and power button would sit on the right side.
There wouldn’t be any fingerprint scanner, which is quite obvious for an entry-level device. However, another leak says that this Nokia 2 would resemble the Lumia 620, which was running on Windows Mobile OS. Experts believe that soon the company would announce Nokia 2 and it may happen before August.
