There’s awesome news this week for all of you Chinese smartphone aficionados as a few pictures of what appears to be a new Meizu device have surfaced online.
The device seems to be fully fledged and we can see writing on the back of the device which suggests that the phone model is either M1E or A680M. Then again, they could both be true since they appear together and one of them might be the full model number. The rest of the text is in Chinese characters and it’s obviously unreadable for people that don’t speak the language.
Although the casing and overall appearance seems to be very similar to the recently released Meizo m3s model, if we take a closer look, we’ll notice that it’s actually quite different and it’s not just the numbers written on the back. It appears to have a 3.5 mm headphone jack on the bottom, whereas the Meizo m3s has it on the top frame.
Other parts of the phone don’t resemble the m3s but they do have traits that can be seen the previous Meizo models. For example, the round camera and flash is very similar to the MX6 models and the Pro 6 ones. It should also be noted that this new smartphone doesn’t have a curvier antenna design like the aforementioned models and instead has a right antenna design. This isn’t something new as it can be seen in the m3 note models and the Pro 5 model. However, these devices use an elongated oval flash.
Also, unlike the m3s, this new smartphone uses a Mediatek MT 6755 SoC processor and appears to sport a 5.5 inch display with 1080p of resolution and 3 GB of RAM. We can also tell from the pictures that the device is running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the Flyme OS 5.2.1 interface, and brings a physical home button mTouch which most likely will serve as a fingerprint scanner. It remains to be seen whether this smartphone will be released on August 10, or if we will have a longer time to expect. The article will be updated with latest information about this smartphone.
