When it was still owned by Google, Motorola made a name for itself as a manufacturer which releases updates on time, shortly after they reach Nexus handsets. After being bought by Lenovo, this hasn’t changed that much, as they just announced that all of their models released in 2016 will receive Android 7.0 Nougat by the end of the year.
To be more specific, we’re talking about the Moto G4 and the whole Moto Z line-up, including the Moto Z Play, Moto Z Force and Moto Z. Ok, but what about other handsets from Motorola’s portfolio?
Recently, the manufacturer published a list of handsets which will also receive Android 7.0 Nougat, including Moto X Pure Edition, Moto X Style, Moto X Play, Moto X Force, Droid Turbo 2 and Droid Maxx 2. Oh, and let’s not forget about the Motorola-made Nexus 6, which is still a pretty cool phone, two years after its launch.
So if you have any of the models mentioned above, you will definitely get a taste of Google’s new dessert. However, despite Motorola’s announcement, an date when the update will start rolling out wasn’t announced, but if we’re allowed to take a wild guess, we’d say that it should happen somewhere in the first and second quarters of 2016.
