Motorola isn’t going on the business as usual lane in 2017 as the smartphone company is looking to catch the market early in the new year. With this in view, Motorola is expected to announce and officially launch its Moto G5 and G5 Plus smartphones before the end of the second month of the year.
Motorola’s G5 and G5 Plus is expected to witness an official unveiling at the February MWC which will hold in Barcelona. However, ahead of the launch, like most other smartphones, the specs on the device has found its way out of the smartphone company’s grasp.
With the specs out in the open, the only information withheld by the smartphone company is the expected pricing of the smartphone, but in the latest leak, Motorola seem to have lost all as the possible pricing is out in the open.
On the specs front, the Moto G5 and G5 Plus is expected to succeed the last year’s version of the G4 and G4 Plus and this comes with impressive specs upgrade which includes the much expected screen design upgrades According to the leaks of the smartphone which surfaced online, Motorola is planning a new rectangular home button on the next range of smartphone. The home button is also expected to double up as a fingerprint sensor.
The smartphone will also a feature a circular rear camera module on the back panel as against the earliest design which taunts a pill shaped camera module.
The G5 Plus will boast a 5.5-inch screen with full-HDSuper AMOLED display and the Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection layered in top. The smartphone is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset paired with Adreno 506 graphics. The processor is clocked at a speed of 2GHz with 4 GB Of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory which is further expandable using microSD card.
The phone is expected to feature a 16-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash fitted on the back panel while a 5 MP camera will be featured on the front panel. The smartphone will also roll out with the latest Android OS 7 Nougat out of the box and will be powered by a 3,080 mAh battery.
As for pricing of the device, the Moto G5 Plus is expected to go a higher range in terms of price compared to its predecessor, the G4. Rumors however hold that the device will be available for about $300. For other markets such as in India, the smartphone will according to projection be available in the market as from March and is likely to sell at a lower price pegged at $230.
