After a couple of images with the presumed Moto X (2017) made the rounds online this week, a new set of images with upcoming Motorola handsets, alongside details about the specs, were spotted online! We’re talking about the Moto G5 and G5 Plus, two upper mid-range models which should make their debuts in the upcoming weeks, packing a more than decent configuration.
At a first look, the smartphones have a similar configuration, except a few aspects. To be more specific, the Moto G5 should come with a 13 MP camera, while the Plus version is expected to take it one step further, rocking a 16 MP snapper.
The storage capacity will also be different, as the regular G5 will have just a 16 GB variant, while the Plus will come with both 16 and 32 GB storage capacities. As for the fingerprint scanner, it will be present just on the Moto G5 Plus.
As for the resemblances between the two handsets, first of all we have the screen size, as both panels measuring 5.5 inches and sporting a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It’s not bad at all, but 5.5″ basically screams for QHD. But hey, these aren’t flagships, let’s keep this in mind.
The number or cores is also identical, as the smartphones will be powered by the same octa-core chip. They will also feature Turbo Charging and a battery able to make it through a full day of intensive use, as well as the same front-facing selfie camera, relying on a 5 MP sensor.
Currently, there’s no information about a possible launch date for the Moto G5 and G5 Plus, but rumours are pointing to March 8. As a side note, we think it could happen earlier, during MWC 2017.
None of these details were officially confirmed, so you shouldn’t take anything presented above as granted!
