Besides launching new and amazing phones – see the Mi Mix – Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi is also working on the development of an update for its already iconic Android-based operating system, currently known as MIUI 9.
Of course, this doesn’t come as a surprise, since it’s been a while since Google launched Android 7.0 Nougat, so a MIUI version based on it was somehow mandatory.
Recently, a couple of screenshots showing an update screen for MIUI 9 were spotted online, revealing a build version of 220.127.116.11, as well as 9.10.13, having a total size of 1.8 GB.
Of course, the presence of these images online doesn’t necessarily mean that we could see MIUI 9 very soon. On the other side, the team will definitely release a couple of beta versions in the near future, since they’re interested in pleasing their fans, who are eagerly waiting for an update for their handsets.
Most likely, Xiaomi will stick to their typical release cycle and it this happens, we should expect to see the notification to update to MIUI 9 somewhere in May or June next year.
Keep an eye on our blog, as we will be back on this topic as soon as new details about the ROM will be available.
