Asus The Taiwanese electronics manufacturer has unveiled a home robot which costs no more than a smartphone. This robot is named Zenbo. Zenbo will provide assistance when needed at a price of a smartphone.
Zenbo is a two-wheeled robot in a shape of a vacuum cleaner ball. Head of Zenbo is integrated with a camera and it also has a touchscreen display on its face which also displays emotions on the screen. It has a fantastic capability of grasping voice commands and individual movements which will definitely entertain kids and will look after the home care of the older people.
The Asus chairman Jonney Shih said:
“For decades, humans have dreamed of owning such a companion: one that is smart, dear to our hearts, and always at our disposal. Our ambition is to enable robotic computing for every household.”
Zenbo will work to remind older people about their medication schedules and doctor’s appointments. This bot will also monitor the home for emergency situations. When Zenbo detects a problem, it will immediately inform carers. And it will allow them to control the bot remotely to inspect the area using the camera.
The bot can dance, sing, play games and tell stories to kids. The surrounding environment including lights can be controlled by this bot. For adults, it is capable of taking control of televisions, thermostats, and internet of things devices. This bot is essentially Echo on wheels of Amazon. Reports from TechCrunch reveals that this bot Zenbo will cost $599 which is about $400 more than an Echo.Information regarding the availability has not been availed by the manufacturer so you might have to wait a little longer then you expect.
