With less than a month until the official launch, more and more details about the LG G6 are making the rounds online. Of course, this doesn’t come as a surprise, since this is happening basically every year, especially when it comes to flagships.
After a few images with a prototype were spotted, a few days ago, now it’s time to take a closer look at a live image with the actual G6! And yes, we do know that this is the final retail model, since it has a plastic film on the back, which is really shiny, a hint that it could be made of glass.
Sticking to the phone’s rear panel, we can also see the fingerprint scanner and a dual camera setup, looking exactly like the ones seen on LG V20 and last year’s flagship, the LG G5.
Back to the camera, the dual setup will allow users to “recreate the blurry background bokeh effect”, just like the iPhone 7 Plus, when using it in portrait mode. However, there’s no doubt that we’re looking forward to seeing it in action, in order to see if it’s at least as good as the iPhone 7 Plus.
Otherwise, the LG G6 will be powered by a Snapdragon 821 (yes, no 835, since Samsung pretty much bought all the stock), a 5.7″ display, with a QHD+ resolution of 2880 x 1440 pixels, and an aspect ratio of 18:9.
But this isn’t the only variant of the flagship which LG is planning to release, since, according to some recent trademark applications, the South Korean manufacturer is planning to unveil the G6 Compact, G6 Lite, G6 Sense, G6 Young, G6 Fit, G6 Forte, G6 Prix and G6 Hybrid.
Of course, there’s no certainty that all of these will be released or that if they’re all smartphones. If you ask us, the only ones making sense are the G6 Lite, a less powerful version of the flagship, as well as the G6 Compact, considering that the market is constantly asking for smaller handsets, but with a high-end configuration. As for the rest of the models…only time can tell.
