The LG V20 will be launches very soon – on the 6th of September to be precise and it’s more than likely that it happen at a San Francisco event. That means that it will probably be available for purchase in the US very soon after the launch.
According to Mobile Syrup, LG also stated that the handset will also be available for purchase in Canada, but it’s not clear when that will happen. This is actually a great thing, because the previous V10 was not available for purchase there.
The announcement about the release date of the LG V20 also mentions that the device will be the first one in the world to run Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box. This is interesting because, supposedly, the devices that will be used for showcasing the upcoming Android 7.0 Nougat are rumored to be two Nexus handsets build by HTC.
At the moment, the Android Nougat OS is available as preview for developers and not as a final build. The final build for Android 7.0 Nougat is scheduled for release sometime in August or September and Google usually releases its new OS along with a new handset that is supposed to showcase them. That also means that the first mobile in the world to have the Android Nougat right out of the box should be those two Nexus devices code named Marlin and Sailfish, not the LG V20. But, we’ll see more about that in September.
However, the part about having Android Nougat right out of the box this is the only real feature that LG mentioned about the upcoming device. This had led tech analysts to speculate about what specs the LG V20 might have and the general idea is that it will probably be very similar to the V10 and that it will also have two displays: a main large one and a thicker secondary one.
Recently, some LG V20 specs leaked but an LG representative dismissed them as being ‘mostly incorrect’. But with the launch date fast approaching we should expect to see more leaks and hear more rumors about the device.
