One of the handsets we’re looking forward to this fall comes from the folks over LeEco, a relatively new player on the smartphone market, but able to make some pretty awesome devices.
The company’s next addition to its portfolio could be called Le 2s or Le 2s Pro and it’s expected to feature a fully metallic design, reminding us of the HTC One M8, in some way or another, as well as the iPhone 6s, due to the antenna bands on the back panel.
However, we’re not absolutely convinced that the leaked images reveal the real deal, as a few days ago, another variant of the LeEco Le 2s / Le 2s Pro was spotted online. On the other side, let’s not ignore the possibility of actually seeing two phones: the Le 2s, with a plastic body, and a Le 2s Pro, with a metallic casing.
Moving on to the specs, it seems that the phone will have an insane spec sheet. There are reports claiming that the phone will have a whooping 8 GB of RAM, but we find it very hard to believe this.
A more down to earth report, however, reveals that the LeEco Le 2s / Le 2s Pro could be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 or 821 system-on-chip, with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. There’s nothing about the presence of a microSD card slot until now, but it should include one.
Finally, the phone should get a 16 MP main camera, as well as an 8 MP front-facing unit. The operating system will be Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, but customized with the manufacturer’s own user interface, LeEco EUI.
We’re very curious to find out more details about this upcoming LeEco Le 2s or Le 2s Pro, especially about that ridiculous amount of RAM! If it turns up to be true and the phone comes with 8 GB RAM, it will definitely be an interesting choice.
