As we all have witnessed the launch of Jio Phone by the Mukesh Ambani, the owner of Jio Telecom, whose effective price is Rs 0, but for a security deposit, a user has to pay Rs 1,500 (completely refundable) while registering for the device. Now, other telecom companies are planning to bring something to stand against Jio’s mind boggling plans and offers.
Well, in the same attempt (as per as our knowledge), Idea is planning to launch a smartphone in Rs 2,500, which would be able to handle 4G services. In a talk with PTI, the managing director of Idea Cellular Limited, Himanshu Kapania, has suggested that his company is working with handset companies to cut down the smartphone’s prices, in order to stand against Jio Phone.
Sadly, no other information is available regarding this Idea Phone but experts are believing that this phone would be having more features than Jio Phone. Now, Jio Phone forces customers to use only its apps or the preloaded apps whereas the Idea Phone would be more like Android devices. This device would support 4G services and come with dual SIM support, unlike Jio Phone which supports only one SIM, that too of Jio only.
Few sources have suggested that Idea may come up with some special plans for the customers willing to buy its devices but as of now, it doesn’t seem that problems of other telecom companies including Idea are ending especially after the Jio Launched its Phone. Anyway, the best part is, in this competition, customers are having benefits.
