Huawei’s next big announcement doesn’t involve a smartphone this time around, at least not yet, as the smartphone company unveiled its new Emotion UI. The latest news from the smartphone company is the latest version, the version 5.0 which is based on Android 7.0 Nougat. Recall that the new user interface made a significant debut on the Huawei Mate 9 flagship device in November. Following the official unveiling of the next big thing, the smartphone company is expected to roll out the new interface to users a time runs by.
Although Huawei seems to have released a timetable which spells when the upgrades will be pushed to smartphones, the schedule seems to only relate to Chinese users of the smartphone.
The EMUI 5.0 calendar shows that the smartphone company had started the roll out to older versions including the Mate 8, P9, P9 Plus and others since November while latest versions of its smartphones would start getting the upgrade around March and May in 2017.
The company would, however, begin full upgrade roll-out of the EMUI 5.0 as from January 6, 2017, and other models including the G9 Plus, Huawei Nova, Honor 6X, Honor Note 8 and M3 tablet have been shelved till later in the year.
Recall that Huawei took to its Weibo page recently to announce the EMUI adding that the Huawei P9 and P9 Plus will receive the full upgrades of the new user interface before the Spring Festival which according to the calendar is a few days away. Although the Huawei P9 nd P9 Plus had already started receiving updates as from November last year, the updates, the beta version had been rolled out for beta testers. To make the upgrade smooth. However, the company had hinted that those who so desire the upgrade could get it by downloading directly from the Mobile Phone service app which has been rechristened Member Service App.
