Chinese manufacturer Huawei is on the verge of releasing two new products, and we’re not talking about smartphone! Recently, they released two teasers, for two devices that could be unveiled on October 18, during a special event: the Honor S1 smartwatch and a tablet. Oh, and let’s not forget that the new Honor 6X is also expected to make its debut during the same event.
The smartwatch is not the first wearable from the company’s portfolio, but it is the first under the Honor brand. Also, it is rumoured that it won’t run Android Wear, as the company announced that they won’t release any devices running Google’s wearable OS this year. Could we see a Tizen powered smartwatch in a week?
The teaser image for the Honor S1 has water droplets on it, being a direct reference to the devices water resistance. However, this doesn’t come as a surprise, considering that the Huawei Watch, introduced last year, is also water resistant, and the Honor brand offers a lot of the features of the main brand, but at a lower price.
Finally, let’s not forget about the form factor. Most smartwatches are sporting a round display nowadays and it seems that the Honor S1 won’t be an exception. After all, the fist Huawei Watch, with its round display, was received very well, so why change this?
Moving on to the second potential announcement of the event, Huawei will also reveal a tablet. The poster has Honor written on it, so it’s obvious that this device will also be a part of this line-up. There’s also a big chance for this to be a product aimed at the younger age group, so the affordable price tag is justified.
Keep an eye on our blog, as we will be back with more details about this!
