Huawei Unveils a Stylish New MateBook E – 2-in-1 Device with Folio Keyboard and 2K Display

For all Huawei fans over there, we have got you a good news! Have you guessed what it might be? Yes, Huawei has introduced the trio of new MateBooks – MateBook E, MateBook X and MateBook D. Huawei has once again proved to deliver its commitment to innovation, and expands its product portfolio with these new powerful high-end devices.

Let’s see some of the cool design aspects, decent specs and pocket-friendly price tags for the MateBook E. Well, the new MateBook E is completely different in its design, which makes it to pretty to look at, when compared even with the Microsoft Surface Pro.

Specs-wise, the device comes with a 12-inch display, rendering a resolution of 2160 x 1440 pixels (2K) with 400 nits brightness; powered by Intel Core’s 7th generation m3 or i5 processor; feature a 4GB or 8GB RAM and SSD storage options that are expandable up to 128GB, 256GB and 512GB; and a massive 4430mAh battery that can withstand up to 9 hours of watching videos.

For photography, a 5MP front camera is set for its selfie shooter, while in the rear, the pixel count hasn’t been disclosed yet. The MateBook E supports a list of connectivity options, which includes 3.5mm stereo headphone jack, USB Type-C port, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1 support. Surprisingly, Huawei offers its own Mate Dock 2-a multi port adapter and MatePen Stylus.

MateBook E additional features:

  • The device features an advanced Folio keyboard; the hinge allows the keyboard for a full 160 degree of tilt. Physically, the device weighs as 640g (without keyboard) and 1.1Kg (with keyboard). So, it can be used as 2-in-1 device.
  • The folio uses a new 3 Pogo pin connectors, rather than the 7 pins used in its previous version (which means no backward compatibility). Moreover, the Dolby audio effect enriches the three dimensional effects.

The MateBook E will come in two variants and it availability begins over this summer. So, it’s time to know about the price details. The m3/4GB/128GB SSD model carries a price tag of €999; and for the i5/8GB/256GB SSD it’s €1299. Both the variants will come in three color options, which includes Blue, Brown and Pink.
