With just three days ahead of the official launch, a new set of images with the Huawei Mate 9 made the rounds online. We already know that the phablet will be available in two versions, one of them having a curved display, while the other will maintain a flat one.
The latter was spotted in the form of a couple of live images, showcasing a gold body color and this might as well be the real deal, but we don’t exclude the possibility of dealing with some fake images as well.
After analyzing the images a bit, we were surprised to see that the Leica branding, initially seen on the manufacturer’s latest flagship, the P9, is somehow missing. Until now, all leaked images with the Huawei Mate 9 were showing this branding, being stamped in one place or another, and it would be a shame to find out that the partnership with the optics specialists is over.
Moving on, another difference we spotted was on the back of the phone. The dual-camera setup isn’t featuring the black inlay around the lenses, seen on previous renders.
Considering these two aspects, we would be tempted to say that the images are fake, but one the other side, these are just minor details which don’t influence the phone’s overall look.
Otherwise, the Huawei Mate 9 is expected to feature a 5.9″ IPS-NEO LCD display, with a full HD resolution, while under the hood it will come with the manufacturer’s own Kirin 960 chipset, with an octa-core configuration, clocked at 2.6 GHz.
The processor will be aided by 4 of RAM and 64 or 128 gigs of internal storage, or, if you pick the beefier version, 6 GB of RAM and 256 GB of space. You will also have the possibility of expanding this, using a microSD card slot.
Finally, on the back it will have a dual 20 MP camera, with OIS, paired with an 8 MP selfie unit.
