Honor, the sub-brand of Huawei, has just revealed their new Honor 8 Smartphone for the American market. For now, the device is only available in China, but starting with August 17, it can also be pre-ordered in the US.
The pre-order period will end on September 3 and until then, you can place the order to third-party retailers in the US, such as Best Buy, Amazon, Newegg, HiHonor.com/us/ and B&H Photo Video. You can choose between various colors: Midnight Black, Pearl White and Sapphire Blue. However, if you choose Sapphire Blue, it is available for a Best-Buy option exclusively for the first 60 days. Moreover, you will also receive a gift card worth $50 from the retailers. One exception is the fact that HiHonor US offers a rebate of $50 instead of a gift card.
The device runs on a Kirin 950 SoC processor and has a full HD display measuring 5.2 inches. It offers 4 GB RAM and you can choose between 32 or 64 GB options for internal storage. It also comes with a 3000 mAh battery, which is enough to satisfy even some of the most picky customers. The camera offers a 12 MP dual camera on the back and a 8 MP one on the front.
As you could expect, it obviously runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and it costs $399 for 32 GB internal memory and $449.99 for the 64 GB option. In China, prices start at less than $300. The phone weighs 153 grams and it measures 145.5×71.0x7.45 mm, being quite a light device. George Zhao, the president of Honor, declared that it overcomes the set norms in the industry and the conventions on the market through their high aesthetics, also offering speed and smart specs. Moreover, it is ready to fulfill the needs of their millennial consumers, as the president declared.
