The cameras play an integral part in the success of any smartphone today. We know that almost all the smartphone makers have been conscientiously working, on engineering better cameras on their devices, in the recent years. The super-excellent cameras, the phones wearing nowadays, manifests it. HTC is no exception, which is deliberately proven, with its U11’s camera samples surfaced online.
While, the world has been gabbing about the new-age Edge Sense feature, it seems that the highly competent camera, was left orphan. But, it has made its way out. Some tech enthusiast has posted a number of images shot by HTC U11, taken in Taiwan. The images are in high resolution of 4032 x 3024 pixels and are taken in night, featuring both indoor and outdoor ambiance.
The interesting thing here, is the clarity it had rendered in the low light conditions. Though the phone cameras have evolved greatly in the recent years, the low light photography has always been a difficult forge to shape-up, specifically in nights. But the images clearly infers that the U11’s camera has done away with it, indicating a while new era, in the smartphone cameras.
Technically, the device’s primary camera is adorned with a 12 MP Sony IMX362 sensor with f/1.7 aperture, accompanied by a dual-LED flash. It supports additional features, like Optical Image Stabilization, and Phase Detection Auto focus.
On May 16th, during the launch event of the HTC U11, the company boasted that the camera has obtained a whopping 90 points in the DxOMark benchmarking. It is the highest ever score that any camera have made until now. Even the well-acclaimed Google Pixel’s primary camera reached only an 89, which is now pushed back to the second place after the new one has emerged.
