HTC U will be officially released on May 16

After pretty much all important players on the smartphone market launched their flagships for 2017, HTC is still expected to reveal that high-end model, able to compete with the likes of Samsung Galaxy S8, LG G6, Huawei P10 or the Xiaomi Mi 6!

Apparently, the Taiwanese manufacturer will unveil its new top-of-the-line model on May 16, according to an five second teaser they just posted on their Twitter account, alongside the “Squeeze for the Brilliant U.” tagline.

Basically, this short video confirms all the rumors claiming that the HTC U will feature the Edge Sense technology, allowing you to control a lot of the phone’s features using gestures you perform on the metallic frame.

As for the specs, the trail is relatively cold, but we expect the HTC U to feature a 5.5″ display, with a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, it will most likely have a Snapdragon 835 system-on chip, aided by at least 4GB of RAM and 64 or 128 gigs of internal storage. Hopefully, a microSD card will also be present!

The camera department is expected to be represented by a 12 MP main camera (hopefully a decent one, knowing HTC’s past fails regarding this) and a 16 MP front-facing unit. Finally, the operating system will be Google’s Android 7.1 Nougat, but with HTC’s Sense 9 user interface on top.

Keep an eye on our site, as we will be back with more details about this, as soon as anything new comes up!
