Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer, HTC is putting a significant step forward as the new year starts with the choice of unveiling its 5.5-inch display HTC U Ultra and the 5.7-inch HTC U Play.
The devices which were unveiled at the CES 2017 stole the show at the Taiwanese smartphone company rolled out the specs packed into both smartphones. The HTC U Play sports a metal frame just like the U Ultra on the mid panel between the front and the back glass surfaces. The smartphone, HTC U Play, layered with the Gorilla Glass with plans to release the Sapphire glass variant into the market soon also features a bright and crisp Liquid display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels for the 5.2-inch screen.
Under the hood, the smartphone runs on the mid-range MediaTek Helio P10 SoC which is a 64-bit Octa-core processor and packs 3 GB of RAM with a 32 GB of Storage memory which can be further expanded using the microSD card.
For the camera, the HTC U Play sports a f/2.0 16 MP camera equipped with the phase-detection auto focus technology on the rear and the same specs on the front panel. Noticeably, HTC dialed down on the U Play as the U Ultra as specs suggest that the U Play might have worse performance in low-light conditions.
The phone is powered by a 2,500mAh battery which is equipped for fast charging and also fitted with the Taiwanese company’s new Sense Companion. The newly developed sense companion is voice activated and controlled artificial intelligence which acts as a smart assistant to users of the device similar to the Apple’s Siri assistant.
The smartphone is adapted for quality audio production with the smartphone lacking the usual 3.5mm headphone jack feature and instead fitted with the USB Type-C port which can b used for audio playback.
The smartphone is also expected to hit the market with the HTC USonic adaptive in-ear headphone which has been upgraded for better feel and sound production.
HTC has however kept the lid on the possible pricing of the device and the release date. It is however known that the device will be available in variants of blue, black, pink, and white and is also expected to hit the market by spring.
