HP has just confirmed that its Elite X3 handset will become available for purchase on the 5th of September. The presumed date for this was the 29th of August and HP representatives have confirmed it but in relation to certain channels for commercial purposes. The 5th of September deadline refers to the orders placed on the US HP site.
On the 29th of August, the handset will be released together with a desk dock and the bundle is priced at $799. Supposedly, a premium handset will also be launched then. The actual Elite X3 handset is priced at $699.
However, HP doesn’t really have a trustworthy track record when it comes to deadlines as they previously scheduled the release of the Elite X3 at the end of July 2016. It’s only now that we’ve found out when it will actually start selling on the HP site. Not only that, but since it mentioned that the handset will be available on other channels without naming them, it’s very hard to tell if there are other stores selling it across the US.
Elite x3 Specs– The device will feature a 5.9 inch display protected by Gorilla Glass 4 form Corning which will render images at 1440 x 2560 px in resolution. It will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 complete with an Adreno 530 GPU. In terms of space capacity, it will sport 4 GB of RAM and have 64 GB or internal storage space that can be expanded to 256 GB via a microSD card.
As for camera, it will have a 16MP rear one with LED flash and auto-focus, along with a smaller, 8MP front one. It will also spot a USB Type C reversible port. The battery will be a massive Li-Ion 4150 mAh one that will offer it more battery life than your average premium headset and the best part about is that it’s removable so you won’t have any problems replacing it when it’s damaged.
From what we know so far, the device will only come in a black color version, but who knows what might happen in the long run and maybe we’ll see different colored handsets as well.
