This year’s Consumer Electronic Show (CES 2017), starting on January 3, in Las Vegas, is the place where all reputed smartphone manufacturers are expected to release new models and showcase the latest technologies. Honor USA is one of them, according to the invites they already sent!
Huawei’s division is planning to present a completely new smartphone, about which they claim it’s absolutely ‘Epic’.
Over the past weeks, there have been a couple of rumours claiming that it’s actually the Honor Magic, introduced in China a couple of weeks ago, but since there aren’t any details about the specs or anything else, not even cost, we can’t make any assumptions.
On the other side, presuming that it will have a similar configuration, we expect the Honor Epic to come with a 5.1″ QHD AMOLED display, covered with 3D curved glass, and powered by an octa-core Kirin 950 system-on-chip. The operating system could be Android 6.0 Marshmallow, customized with the manufacturer’s own user interface.
As for the camera, this is where things get interesting. The Magic has two 12 MP sensors on the back, therefore, a dual setup, and an 8 MP front-facing camera. From this point of view, it makes sense, considering the #doubleornothing hashtag spotted on the invites.
Finally, the Epic could rock a 2900 mAh battery, with the Huawei Magic Power fast charging technology, able to charge the phone to up to 70% in just 20 minutes, or 90% in just 30 minutes.
For the moment, this is everything we know about this mysterious handset, but we will be back with more information as soon as it makes its official debut.
