There’s just one day left until Google Pixel and Pixel XL will make their official debut, but a well-known retailer, as well as a Canadian carrier, managed to ruin the surprise (like we didn’t know almost everything about them) and posted images with the actual handsets!
After Bell Canada posted images with a while Google Pixel and a black Pixel XL, Carphone Warehouse also revealed listings for both phones. And the best part is that we’re not talking about leaked images, but the exact models that we’re looking forward to seeing tomorrow, during Google’s special event!
In terms of design, there aren’t any differences from the renders we managed to take a look at a few days ago. The phones have antenna lines on the bottom of the back panel, which is made from a combination of plastic and glass. The position of the fingerprint scanner is also confirmed, while the front of the phone doesn’t seem to be housing a BoomSound-like speaker setup. But hey, you never know where a secondary speaker might be hidden!
Spec-wise, there aren’t any surprises. The Google Pixel will come with a 5″ AMOLED display, protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass, rocking a full HD resolution, while the XL will be equipped with a 5.5″ panel, with a QHD resolution, of 2560 x 1440 pixels.
Under the hood, both phones have the same configuration, consisting in a Snapdragon 821 chip, with a quad-core CPU, running at 2.15 GHz, alongside an Adreno 530 GPU, 4 GB of RAM and 32 or 128 GB of native storage. Unfortunately, the phones don’t have microSD card slots.
On the back, there’s a 12 MP camera, with f/2.0 aperture and OIS, while the selfie unit is an 8 MP sensor. In terms of battery, Google Pixel is relying on a 2770 mAh power pack, while the XL has a slightly bigger one, with a capacity of 3490 mAh. Both phones come with Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the box.
Finally, nothing about the pricing was revealed.
