We all know that Google is working on the Pixel’s next iteration, the Google Pixel 2 XL, which is code named as Taimen. While too many leaks and reports are surrounding it, the first look of the Google’s Android device has emerged in the form of render images, just a day ago, from Android Police. The image infers about the larger Pixel device, while the smaller one still remains uncertain.
Further, the image largely evokes the same design language of the Pixel XL in some aspects but also holds a substantial change as well. Accordingly, the LG-made device would flaunt a 6-inch AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The bezels seem to be slimmed down, with the edges curved. However, it doesn’t seem to be a curved display like the LG G6 or the Samsung Galaxy S8.
Moreover, the image manifests that the device sports a metal body, with the Pixel’s trademark glass window, which is pretty much same as the last year’s launch. The device also seems to stick to the single camera setup with LED flash still, rather than adding a dual camera setup, in the rear panel. The fingerprint sensor is placed right below the glass panel at the back.
The Pixel 2 XL may also come with the Squeezable frame, which will allow the pixel users to squeeze their handset in order to interact with the Google Assistant, much like the HTC U11. But we could not see the antenna bands in the rendered image. It is still unclear, whether Google is planning to ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack.
