The new Gionee P7 Max is now official, sporting a more than decent spec sheet and a very good looking design, everything available at a pocket friendly price! And, to be honest, it’s one of the most interesting entry-level smartphones you can currently get.
The handset comes with a 5.5″ IPS display, which, unfortunately, comes just with an HD resolution, but hey, it’s a budget phone after all, don’t expect that much! In terms of processing power, the Gionee P7 Max is using a MediaTek MT6595 chipset, with an octa-core processor, clocked at 2.2 GHz, as well as 3 GB of RAM, a PowerVR G6200 GPU and 32 GB of internal memory.
Moving on to the camera, the handset comes with a 13 MP rear-mounted unit, aided by an LED flash, and teaming up with a 5 MP front-facing shooter. It’s not high-end, but again, let’s not forget that we’re talking about a phone targeting emerging markets and users on a budget!
When it comes to battery, the Gionee P7 Max is using a 3,100 mAh power pack, which can be considered a bit small for a 5.5″ handset. However, let’s not forget that it has just a regular HD resolution, so the battery should be just enough to keep it powered for a full day of intensive use.
Currently, the handset is available just in Nepal, with a price tag of NPR 21,999, which roughly translates to $205, a bargain, if you ask us. There’s nothing right now about the Gionee P7 Max’s availability in other areas as well, but the manufacturer should target at least two big markets, like India and China.
