We’ve seen a couple of excellent Gionee handsets this year, especially part of the manufacturer’s P series, and the all new P7 is no exception. Even though they skipped the classic launch event, the Gionee P7 is already available for sale! Let’s see what it brings…
The smartphone comes with a 5″ display and an HD resolution, being protected by Soda Lime glass, which seems to be a less popular alternative to Corning’s Gorilla Glass.
As for the processor that’s powering it, Gionee kept the details just for themselves, but we do know that’s it’s actually a quad-core chip, running at 1.3 GHz, made by MediaTek. The processor is aided by 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. The latter can be expanded, since the phone also has a microSD card slot.
On the back of the Gionee P7 there’s just an 8MP camera, which seems a modest unit, compared to 2016’s standards, aided by a single LED flash, while on the front, the phone has a 5MP selfie unit, which relies on the screen flash, if you want to take pictures in darker environments.
Otherwise, the phone comes with 4G connectivity, with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and, of course, GPS. As for the battery, it has a capacity of 2,300 mAh.
The Gionee P7 is coming with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, but with the manufacturer’s Amigo 3.2 user interface on top.
If you’re fancying this phone, you should know that it has a starting price of INR 9,999 in India, which roughly translates to $150. You can get it in White, Latte Gold or Gray, featuring a transparent and glittering textured back.
It will be very interesting to see how this smartphone will perform on the market, considering that you can now get 1080p a lot of smartphones in India for under $150.
